Marilu Henner Can Remember The Date She Bought Every Item In Her Organized Closet

You might be wondering why actress Marilu Henner is talking to Leslie Stahl of 60 Minutes about her closet.

 Henner, an actress, producer and New York Times bestselling author, loves things orderly. As she stands in her Hollywood Hills closet, she tells Shahl:

"I love organization... I like my shoes a certain way, right foot going this way, left foot going that way, so you can always see the toe and the heel on every pair. And you'll see that things are very color coordinated here, but in sections. And I always hang like with like. And I have the exact same hangers, because then everything slides more easily."

Among Henner's order is an unusual ability to remember EVERYTHING about her wardrobe. The dates, days of week and specific event she wore everything in her closet. The shoes she shows the camera (in the top picture) she recalls buying Friday, April 9, 1982. Her sweaters are below:

Superior Autobiographical Memory:

Henner has been diagnosed as having a syndrome called "Superior Autobiographical Memory," also known as "endless memory." The person has an extraordinary capacity to recall specific events from his or her personal past with exact dates and times. And, as you will see if you watch the videos below, they are able to "categorize" their memories and call upon them at will, quite effortlessly.

Scientists admit this is a rare condition and they are just beginning to study it. There may or may not be a connection to OCD and parts of the brain that contain memory. Do these people have more adrenaline in their system which may help them remember events more clearly? Since the 60 Minutes show first aired December, 2010, and an update this past June of this year, over 20 people have contacted the scientists claiming they are also gifted with the same syndrome.

Tori Spelling Films Celebrity Mockumentary of Hoarders TV Show

Actress Tori Spelling (and her mother, Candy Spelling) are very familiar with the challenges of getting organized.

Both the 90210 1.0 star and her mother have publicly chronicled their personal challenges overcoming different obstacles in their lives (reselling clothes on eBay, holding a garage sale, organizing attic storage and creating an infamous gift closet).

Tori Premieres "Funny or Die" Hoarders Mockumemtary:

Last Saturday, we attended a screening of comedienne Margaret Cho's "Cho Dependent" at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood. Tori, alongside former American Idol's Clay Aiken and actress Sally Kirkland, premiered their new Hoarders TV show mockumentary on Funny or Die. If you don't know A&E's Hoarders offers a "look inside the lives of people whose inability to part with their belongings is so out of control that they are on the verge of losing everything." Well, Tori hoards something you'd not expect. According to the site, "just because someone is a celebrity doesn't mean they don't hoard like the rest of us. Carrie Underwood Hails Her Husband a Hoarder

Do opposites attract? Country singer Carrie Underwood, who rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, seems to be discovering that fact.

Underwood married Mike Fisher in the summer of 2010. After they married, the two continued a long distance relationship and didn't live together until last Winter. Fisher, a hockey player from the Ottawa Senators was traded to the Nashville Predators. Fisher packed up his Canadian house, and moved into Underwood's Nashville home. And Fisher brought a lot of baggage with him apparently. Underwood talked about her reaction to his challenge recently on the Ellen Degeneres Show (pictured below). The Grammy-winner explained that Fisher kept his "hoarding" tendencies under wraps at his former home:

“[My husband] had [the clutter] in all the guests bedrooms, and he had it boxed up and stuff. He’s like, ‘Babe, I need more space in the closet,’ and my heart just sinks.”

According to Underwood, Fisher continuously shops for clothes but won’t get rid of anything old, even if the clothes or items are stained and ruined. Sound familiar?

"Shirts and stuff...He loves to shop...He has stuff come in, and I'm like, 'It's not going out fast enough. If you bring stuff in, stuff needs to go out. Do we need this shirt? It has a giant stain on the sleeve. Are we going to wear this again? No, then do something with it.' It's still hanging up there!"

Carrie continued to complain to Degeneres about her husband by revealing that he doesn’t even keep all of his things organized. Instead, it all lays everywhere around the house.

We are not sure why dirty laundry needs to be aired publicly in this manner. A professional organizer with special training, education and resources can come to their rescue if Fisher wants to explore his personal, private challenges. Then, Underwood doesn't have to play the bad guy and be more kind, loving and supportive. Nagging will not change anything.
