Bigfoot Sighting - Big Ideas to Organize Your Shoes

Southern California is currently on Bigfoot watch today.

 

Why?  Two Georgia men have reportedly discovered the body of such creature.  Their well-publicized press conference appeared on CNN today, and has been getting coverage all over the Internet, including the Los Angeles Times.  There's even a brand-new heartwarming video up on YouTube today.

All this talk of Bigfoot is making us think about the contribution we're making to a major national magazine for an upcoming issue on organizing women's shoes.  Allow us to share our ideas with you, and if you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it.

Did you know the average person in the US owns 19 pairs of shoes?

The shoe unit we're recommending for the article need to holds lots of shoes for an active and stylish women.  The units are going to sit inside the closet as an accessory, but not necessarily.  They can sit freestanding, too.  The fictitious woman we're writing about has a healthy addiction, and heels and sneakers are in the mix.  Here's a selection we found this afternoon.  Any big ideas?

The Rakku ferris wheels of shoes holds up to 30 pairs, and is changeable according to the size of the shoe.  Comes in silver, gray, black and pink for only $69.

These clear shoe boxes from Shoe Stor are nice.  They ship flat and have a perfectly square profile making them perfect to max out your shelves making the most out of your space.

If you must choose plastic, why not ones in a cool color, like green, yellow or purple?  Shoebby offers these in what seems like a higher-end version, complete with handles (which we love) and a logo.

We've never seen these shoe stacker before.  From the Home Marketplace, they claim they can double your shoe storage instantly.

No kidding... a friend who is environmentally conscious says they store their shoes inside recycled spinach containers, the larger size you snag at a big box store.

These boxes from Closet Fetish seem to be our favorite.  We love the colors like red, beige and chocolate brown.  There is a 4"x6" frame on the front where you can insert a picture.  $15/each, a bargain.  The main website is sold out, but they are telling us they are available at Home Shopping Network.

There's nothing particularly wrong with plastic clear shoe bins.  These are from Brylane Home and Kitchen.  They'll fit neatly inside whatever currently is in the closet.  We love these from the Container Store and Iris at Organize.com also offers a selection of these too.  If you check out the Brylane website, there are over 163 customer reviews!
