If you're reading our blog from Los Angeles, there are at least four recycling events happening this weekend at Universal Studios, Lancaster/Palmdale, Long Beach and Culver City.
We doubt any paparazzi will be snapping photos, so it's safe to do some spring fling without those annoying flashbulbs and dirt gathering.
Universal Studios, Studio City, Saturday, 4/26:
One-day mobile collection event, for Los Angeles residents (both city and county), see weblink for more locations. Saturday, April 26, 2008, 9am-3pm. Parking lot at Universal Studios. 1-800-98-TOXIC (city) or 1-888-CLEAN LA (county). Click here for more information.
Lancaster/Palmdale, Saturday, 4/26:
Free Dump Day in Antelope Valley. As part of the county's efforts to reduce illegal dumping, county unincorporated area residents (with proof of residence) may drop off up to one ton of trash, free of charge at the Lancaster and Palmdale Landfills on Saturday, April 26th, 2008.
Long Beach, Saturday, 4/26:
Sensible Space Organizing Services and Marketplace Long Beach are co-sponsoring "Shred It Day" on Saturday, April, 26th, 10am-1:30pm. Join in the safe, secure recycling of documents (paper only please) at 2nd and PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) in Long Beach. Look for the mobile shredding truck in the parking lot along PCH. Donation to Heifer International requested, in lieu of shredding fee. Contact 562-961-1975 or click here to email for more information.
Culver City, Ongoing for April:
Miller Honda is recyling cel phones to benefit NCJW (National Council of Jewish Women). We couldn't locate anything online (sad), but saw public service commercials on AMC.
