The 2008 Los Angeles Organizing Awards, affectionately known as the "Orgies," have come and gone.
Over 150 celebrity organizers, organizing industry professionals and members of the public attended the Awards on February 1st, geared to celebrate the organizing industry, organizing innovators, products and media.

Recipients Announced for Third Annual Los Angeles Organizing Awards
Top lifestyle and organizing experts gather to celebrate the professional organizing industry.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2008 -- Top organizing and lifestyle experts Julie Morgenstern (ORGANIZING FROM THE INSIDE OUT, O' THE OPRAH MAGAZINE, FRANKLIN COVEY), Peter Walsh (CLEAN SWEEP, THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, DOES THIS CLUTTER MAKE MY BUTT LOOK FAT?), Dorothy Breininger (DR. PHIL, PBS, CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL), Linda Koopersmith (CLEAN HOUSE), Nadia Geller (WHILE YOU WERE OUT, HOMEMADE SIMPLE), Monica Ricci (MISSION: ORGANIZATION) and Joyce Dorny (ORGANIZE MAGAZINE) were on hand for this year's Third Annual Los Angeles Organizing Awards at the Luxe Hotel Bel-Air, Los Angeles, California.
More than 150 celebrity organizers, industry professionals and members of the public attended the February 1st gala which was hosted by actress and comedienne Sherri Shepherd (The View), who humorously shared her personal experiences of working with a professional organizer. Other industry leaders in attendance included NAPO National President Standolyn Robertson and National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization President Lynne Johnson. The presenting sponsor was the nation's leading retailer of storage and organization products, The Container Store.
Eighteen awards were given -- six awards for organizing products and retailers, five awards for organizing services, four awards to organizing professionals and two awards to exemplary media outlets. A first-time Special Recognition Award went to organizing expert Peter Walsh and The Oprah Winfrey Show for their collaboration on "Inside the Lives of Hoarders, with Peter Walsh." Finalists were selected during a two-month nationwide online popular vote that ended December 31.
"The Organizing Awards validate the extreme upward trend in organizing," according to John Trosko, President of NAPO Los Angeles. "The top organizers in the nation are here this evening to celebrate the value and continuing solutions to the challenge of living an organized, modern life," Trosko added.
Other highlights of the night included 'The Year in Review,' a video montage with segments submitted by professional organizers throughout the United States and the "Thelonious Monk Beyond the Bell Program" quartet.
