Earlier this year, we auditioned for Home Made Simple, a makeover show on TLC where three "Home Mavins" pitch-in to help one American family install simplicity into their complicated, busy lives.
What's unique about the show, is that it appears to be filmed (and not on video) which gives it a richer quality, and less of a "reality makeover show" look. Along the way, every family member learns a few tricks and tips about taking care of their home including organizing, meal preparation and decorating, while family and friends help in the process.
We auditioned for the role formerly left by June Saruwatari, an organizing expert in Los Angeles also known as the Organizing Maniac. June's departure left the spot open and that's where we stepped in, and stepped out. Not getting the job opened the door for another Angelino, Nadia Geller (pictured upper right), a Los Angeles Interior Designer with a burgeoning business.
So who is Nadia Geller, the newest organizer on TV?
She's not so new after all. Geller began her career as an artist in Chicago. In 1999, she moved to New York City where she worked as a freelance interior designer until landing a job as Visual Manager for New York City's home furnishings mecca, ABC Carpet and Home. Winning accolades, she moved to Los Angeles where Nadia balances her LA-based interior design company with television appearances on While You Were Out, Trading Spaces and now, Home Made Simple.
Geller currently is on staff as a design expert for iVillage and a spokesperson for Prismacolor.
Congratulations, Nadia! We'll be watching!
