We love holiday entertaining and making guests feel special, especially when guests spend the night.
Today we noticed a banner on the Evite site for AeroBed's new "Art of the Guest Bed" campaign, which provides "tips for overnight guest success." The tips are terrific. Play board games (check), magazines (check), alarm clock (check).
Can we share something for a second about how unwieldy, unworldly, and ungodly cumbersome these portable beds, air-filled mattresses are?
Over the four years we've been in business, we've bagged, boxed, sacked, stored, shelved, markered, stickered, donated, sold, trashed, recycled, repaired and squashed these suckers into cupboards and hope chests, under beds, in garages and stuck them into cramped cars and campers.
We've even shipped them for clients (and friends) who have small beach cabanas or cramped ski condos. One thing for sure, they are not used as often as one would hope. Some have motors, which need the occasionally repair (at the worst times). Many beloved clients lose the fabric bag cover. Have you ever hoisted a 50 pound AeroBed above your head into a garage cabinet, and remembered where you put it for the next time you need it? Steady now!
So company is coming: how do you store and how often do you actually use your AeroBed?
