Last Monday, Chris McKenry (pictured above left) and a very tan John Trosko took the 2-hour drive from L.A. to San Diego (actually La Jolla) to visit our friend Diana Jillie, President of NAPO-San Diego (pictured above center.)
Chris, (a two-time Immediate Past President of the L.A. Chapter,) and I took the long drive to dive into the NAPO-San Diego Organizing Expo, which was held during their regular chapter meeting (Chris wasn't particularly happy when I spent the entire trip on my cel phone, attempting to catch up.) Diana was such a gracious host, introducing both Chris and I as dignitaries over a beautifully laid-out event.
Representatives from some really great San Diego-based businesses participated in the Expo-- Companies included Bindertek, Clutter No More, College Filer, Direct Imaging Services, Esselte Corp (Pendaflex), FreedomFiler, Grandprey Consulting, Home Space Design Center, Securita, Inc., Organize.com, Container Store, and the Office Supply Pros. We were able to pitch everyone's participation in our Los Angeles Organizing Expo which will be held October 22.
Chris and I met Brendon Mulvihill from Shelf Shark (he also took the drive to San Diego from Brentwood). I had a great chat with Liz Staley, Jana Hartwell, Mishele Vieira, Liz Corso and the chapter's board of directors. I even met (in-person) with an organizer who was on the receiving end of a Los Angeles to San Diego packing job my company handled.
And finally, I was so honored to have finally shook the hand of Donna Smallin, an organizing innovator, author and owner of Organized Greetings, a line of greeting cards, postcards and gifts developed for professional organizers. Donna had flown in from Phoenix just for the event. Thrilling!
