After we posted about the Rubbermaid Organizer Sweepstakes yesterday, a reader let us know about another contest, this time sponsored by Real Simple Magazine and Unilever.
For this contest, all you have to do is pen a personal tip for making the most of your summer time. The $10,000 winner also gets one private session a personal home organizer who will provide advice on the best use of your backyard space and guide you on your purchase of backyard makeover materials (grill, table, chairs, umbrella, swing set, etc.).
Here's the tip we submitted:
"Do you have old furniture in the house you want to get rid of but need outdoor furniture for those large family pool parties? Why not take those old pieces, spray-paint them white, and voila! You've got extra seating, or storage by the pool. Once summer ends, the furniture can be donated to charity, and you've got great summertime memories."
