In a move that is probably less about de-cluttering and downsizing and more along the likes of Angela Bassett's angry character in Waiting to Exhale, we heard today that Jean Strahan, wife of New York Giant's defensive end Michael Strahan, cleaned house this past weekend.
In some sort of post-divorce feud with her ex-husband, Jean took her case to the public.
Strahan's wife was only able to pull $6.5 million dollars from him, but that was only partial payment of the $13.5 million the courts gave her as a settlement. Jason said it was too much and halted the remaining payment.
In what seems like a retaliation, Mrs. Strahan threw the doors open to their (her) $3.5 million dollar Montclair, New Jersey home (see picture above, left) for deals of the decade.
Published reports state that she gave $300 dresses away for $20, a set of Michael's personally-worn gloves for $50, televisions for $50, and picture frames for $2 each. [Click here to read more in a 2002 NFL.com article for detail about their home, and the labor of love it took to pull the renovation together.]
The couple filed for divorce in 2005. We don't advocate having a garage sale selling items from a non-present family member who does not have full knowledge and agreement as to the situation-- no matter how bad the feelings are. These sorts of situations make only for dramatic cinema.
