The thought of a child getting caught inside a closet or piece of furniture is not a thought we wish to entertain. A reader forwarded us this information to pass along.
Home Decorator's Collection of St. Louis, Mo. announced an organizing product recall just two weeks ago for a safety hazzard.
Where, When, What:
These Leather Suitcase Trunks were sold in retail stores nationwide, catalogs, and online from January 2006 through November 2006 for between $60 and $190. 500 trunks were sold.
They're leather bound and have a handle on each side, and a clasp on the front. The trunks are burgundy or brown and are sold in three sizes: small, medium and large.
Safety Issues:
The trunk has an exterior clasp that can lock unexpectedly when the trunk lid closes. If a child climbs inside the trunk, he/she may not be able to open the trunk from the inside. This poses an entrapment and suffocation hazard to children.
