If you're illegally dumping furniture, paint or trash in your quest to get organized, here is important information.
A new California law for illegal dumping takes effect this week, according to the Southern California Auto Club:
Under AB 2253, a court can impound a vehicle used in the illegal dumping of waste matter for up to six months if the person driving the vehicle has a prior conviction for the offense.
Law does not include:
- beverage containers
- food wrappers
Law does include:
- oil
- petroleum products
- paints
- garbage
- furniture
- dirt
- gravel
- body parts
