If you've jumped out of your BMW and into your local Target for some Q-Tips, Method products, and a garden hose, chances are you've discovered some sort of design-inspired holiday houseware or clothing item with distinctive elements reminiscent of Lucky Brand Dungarees, Coach, Vera Bradley and Pottery Barn.
Williams-Sonoma, Inc., parent company of Pottery Barn, and other lifestyle home brands, is suing Target for stealing its designs and knocking them off, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Saturday.
In our opinion, it's all about delivering style to the masses, who don't want to pay for the original, which of course costs more. This quality isn't the same, and much of Target is one step above IKEA.
Perhaps the days of investment pieces are gone in favor of disposable purchases you turnover often? This also goes for Target's organizing supplies, leather baskets, bins and binders. They wobble, scratch and break often.
