A Beverly Hills, CA family discovered some extraordinary rare recordings of Judy Garland while clearing out the family home.
The recordings are so rare in fact, that Auctioneers Bonhams and Butterfields put them up for auction last Sunday, and expected to fetch $40,000 for the lot. They were discovered in materials destined for the trash.
The so-called Lost Judy Recordings consist of two March 1935 acetate discs created in a Hollywood recording studio when Judy Garland sang as her mother accompanied her on the piano.
