Karl Lagerfeld, the German-born couturier, photographer, publisher and art collector is downsizing his digs in Paris.
While traveling back from Italy through Charles de Gaulle, we checked out an interview in the Air France on-board magazine. Lagerfeld reportedly revealed his current ambitious project as well as his obsession with books:
"I'm obsessed with books. I have tons that I haven't even had time to crack open. It's like a virgin forest. I don't read many novels, I like essays, philosophy; it's like gymnastics."
"I'm in a phase where I'm getting rid of things, not acquiring them. I don't want to clutter my life. It's interfering with my freedom. I'm going to move out of my Paris house. I've been there 30 years! When things begin slipping a bit, it's time to go elsewhere. The only thing I care about is myself, and a few others. That's all."
Letting go is always difficult. Take it from Karl Lagerfeld. Take it from us.
