Hivemindesign - Tier Shelving

It's $7200 dollars, but this California-style Tier Shelf from Hivemindesign is the black cat's meow.

A great way to display Objects D'art, smaller books, or even your favorite dinnerware, the smart design has no visible hardware, making it appear to be floating.  We can imagine it gracing a hallway.  And the orange?  Perfectly Halloween, and perfectly delicious.

Sharon Stone is Shedding Some Baggage in Beverly Hills

Sharon Stone is downsizing her closet and selling 100 of her handbags at a celebrity auction in Beverly Hills.  The auction benefits the Lupus Foundation, and Stone has been a large supporter of late-- ever since her sister came down with the disease.  Here's what Stone said:

"How many bags do you really need?  We really need a cure for Lupus but I don't really need very many handbags."

We couldn't find any details of time and specific location, even on the LA Lupus website.  But we do know that Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Taylor opened their designer closets and joined in on the cause.

1970's Kitchen Organizing

Kitch in the Kitchen?  Sure, especially when it's useful and you actually use it.  Nice concept, eh?

From Modhaus, comes these two 1970's neat kitchen organizing accessories.

• Wall-mounted revolving spice rack, by Digsmed, made in Denmark. 14” diameter, 3” deep. $85

• Plastic wall mounted tea towel holder, ca. 1970s. Probably Italian.  16.5" long x 6" x 4.5".  $35

Both are great for keeping cutter off the countertops and tripping out your cuchina.

      

A Stunning Way to Organize Your Stilettos

Would you organize decorate your living room with 250 pairs of stilleos?  In New York City where space is a premium, one Manhattanite has put their best foot forward.

In 2003, Art Collector Cindy Gallop purchased and converted a 3,500-square-foot raw space that was once the senior locker room in an old YMCA building on West 23rd Street in NYC.  Gallop wanted a suitably dramatic showcase for her art and possessions:

"Gallop, who grew up in Brunei, Borneo, began collecting after moving to London, where she joined the BBH ad agency, overseeing campaigns for Johnnie Walker and Levi’s. Along the way, she acquired 250-plus pairs of designer stilettos, a framed AK-47 stamped with the Chanel logo and a gold-painted Gucci chain saw (both by artist Peter Gronquist), a black leather Gucci spanking paddle, a pink-and-yellow YSL light installation, and a black leather YSL bustier that she wears on special occasions."

“Tom Ford is my god,” says Gallop, who keeps a framed photograph of herself with the designer in her living room. “He designed for strong, confident, sexy women. I like to stand out and make a statement.”
