Do you sometimes use a big trip to set deadlines? I am using my Italy trip next weekend a chance to kick some deadlines in high-gear. While clearing out some old digital files, I found some interesting notes I forgot I wrote almost 2 years ago. The notes are a combination of several appointments I went on at the time, and various excuses I heard for not getting organized. These excuses are not amusing or funny, but rather serious and introspective.

- Everything can be used for something else in the future.
- Creative people make messes-- so they're completely okay to make.
- I like everything out in the open so I can easily find it.
- I like collecting things... it is in my genes.
- I want one of everything (for creative projects) so I can pick the textures/colors, etc. when I work on something.
- Clothes: My passion for shopping is still so comfortable; I spend so much money on clothes, I can't get rid of clothes even if I don't wear the piece; maybe it will fit someday; it was one of my favorites, I can't give it away, etc.
- It was such a bargain-- I bought it.
- They were so reasonable I bought lots of them to use in the future.
- Isn't this piece great? I can think of lots of ways of using it.
- Plants: pruning... I can get that to grow a new plant. Seeds: I should collect them so they don't go to waste.. I can replant them next year.
- Food: I'll make something else out of the extra ---.
- Old things: "it was my mother's favorite poached egg pan" -- I've had it for such a long time-- it will be valuable in the future-- even if I'm not using it now. I might in the future.
