On the way back from a Clients place on the beach in Santa Monica this afternoon, we stopped off at our local Whole Foods store and snagged a loaf of their delicious Creme Brule French Toast for an upcoming party gift. There were some thoughtful flyers at the registers encouraging shoppers to recycle their Christmas Trees through RecycleTrees.com and a way to stop dragging that tree through your condo elevator and having to clean up the mess later. Finally, a hassle-free way to recycle your tree and give something back to the environment, and all it takes is a phone call and $20.
Starting at $20 California Christmas Tree Recycling will come to your home, remove the tree from its stand, vacuum the floor (really?), and take the combustible tree to the recycling center. The mulch is then used for local plantings and a portion of all proceeds goes to Tree People.
The company is located in Tarzana, CA -- (818) 986-1300 or visit their website. Good deal.
If you're not in Southern California, type your zip code into the National Christmas Tree Association website for alternative tree-recycling companies.
