The obvious overall advantage to using organizing units is to make the most out of the space you have. The choices come down to looks, cost and usefulness.
There are three or four ways to incorporate organizing units at home or office, with the top end usually being for your clothes closet, and the bottom end being in the garage or storage unit.
Most would choose an elegant, attractive closet organizer for clothes and shoes. Likewise, inexpensive wire shelving for garage items and children’s play toys, are a natural choice.
Wooden prefab shelves for books are popular and reasonably priced—and can be painted to compliment any color scheme in your home. Various materials gives a person a choice on how much money they want to spend from just a few dollars to a custom built organizing component.
Once a specific organizing unit is chosen, I personally recommend the use of clear, plastic containers for storage (for garage and pantry.) I use Iris containers as well as Sterilite. The virtue of clear containers is that they are durable, inexpensive and you can see what's inside. For highly visible locations, decorative containers can compliment the surrounding décor as well.
