  • Testimonial – Home Paper Management System for a New Veterinarian

We recently organized the home office of a newly-graduated Veterinarian in the Hollywood Hills.

Robert admitted that he had neglected significant amounts of office paper while attending medical school. Just a few months after graduation, he called us to perform some hands on work organizing and creating a manageable system to handle the paper. He also recognized that he had no system to track and submit payments for his student loans (they were about to arrive). Robert has allowed us to share his first name, occupation and a bit of his personal story for this testimonial:

"After four years of graduate school, I was swamped with stacks and stacks of paperwork.  From old tests and schoolwork, to student loan information, even miscellaneous bills and insurance information.  I would look at the piles and just freeze.  I was blocked and needed some assistance to get over the hump and begin to make progress."

"That’s when I called John Trosko and OrganizingLA.  John came to the rescue and in just a few short hours, we were able to clear the clutter into manageable files.  He left me with an organized system, clear instructions on how to minimize what was left, and the motivation to finish the job myself.  Thanks John, for your help and for giving me my dining room table back!"

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Hollywood, Calif.

  • Testimonial – Palos Verdes Relocation Project

    Palos_verdes

We’ve pretty much completed a large relocation in the Palos Verdes area of Southern California, a newly built 14,000 square foot home.

An organizing colleague asked us to be part of her team, but her actual attendance was impossible due to another obligation. All the more important that she brought the right people onto the job, folks that would work well together.  We were in charge of unpacking, beautifying and organizing various areas of the home, including the butler’s pantry, gentleman’s closet, sweater closet, golf supplies, bathrooms, a breakfast room, parts of the three-car garage, and a holiday storage room.

Now that the job is complete, here’s a note the lead organizer sent to me this morning:

"Thank you again for your professional and energetic commitment to making the [name omitted] relocation project a HUGE success. As you know, [name omitted] were delighted (and blown away) by everyone’s contribution. I look forward to seeing the [name omitted] home now that all the furnishings are in place, and of course, to witness first hand all the great organizing [name omitted] has been bragging and raving about.

As I sit here typing this memo, I am struck by the thought that I am a bit sad not to have been able to work on this project with each of you.

I always enjoy the energetic buzz that a project like this ignites when a group of self-starting and creative organizers pull together, for the common good, to bring order (and beauty) to any given situation.

[Names omitted] are pleased, delighted and grateful. So am I.

One of Mrs. [name omitted] final comments to me was that we are definitely a group of "true professionals."  Thank you again for your integrity and professionalism in making this project a complete success and for representing yourselves, my company and our industry in such a positive light."

  • A Short Note From a Blog Reader

We were sincerely touched upon receipt of this reader note, in response to a post we did last February for an organizing product safety recall.

"Thank you for the blog piece on the trunk.  As a funeral director I experienced the unfortunate result that comes from designs that don’t take children in mind.  Where is the first place a child goes playing hide and seek?  You guessed it.

You have done a great service by carrying this article.  Thanks."

Fortunately, we haven’t had to post any more organizing product safety recalls, even though we’re on a weekly notification list.  We guess that’s a good thing.  If you hear of one, please e-mail us.

JeepinkpenAt the OrganizingLA Blog, we get lots of mail from Readers, not only from Southern California, but all over the world.

We’d to share this touching and fun note that embraces what we’re all about– funky new products, homekeeping hints and productivity techniques that enchance your life, and give you more time for the things you really care about.

But it’s the interactivity that really makes a difference– so please keep posting those comments and sending e-mails.  Sometimes, the best information is hidden inside the comments section from Readers like you!

"John– I saw the E Nook a few months ago in PC Magazine.  It was difficult for me to locate on the web as I could not remember what it was called.  The magazine is long gone………. I was starting to give up hope as various searches of "dock, charger center, station, valet" got me nowhere.  I have no idea how I actually came across your Blog!
I am horse person, my husband a gadget FREAK.  In the barn every saddle, blanket, bridle and helmet has a rack or hook.  In the house iPODs, phones, laptops and Palm Pilots are on the counters, tables, desks and dressers.  I am crazy about the E Nook!
For my birthday I received lingerie. For him.  For Christmas he will receive the E Nook.  For me.

    Have a merry Christmas!  — Ms. C"
