Realtors recommend decluttering your home to bring maximum value from potential buyers.

We've just completed a large Los Angeles decluttering project and was asked to stage the house with the furniture and decor the clients already owned so that the home could be listed for sale. With the plan in mind and some muscle, we started reworking furniture, art, accessories and decor so that potential clients could envision themselves living in the house.

What did we do to make the home more welcoming?

Organized Garage is Gift to Deserving Orange County Mother for Her Work With American Soldiers in Iraq

Last Thursday, one very lucky Orange County mother was treated to a day of organization. Through the volunteer efforts from the Los Angeles Chapter of NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers, one winner was chosen to participate in an extreme makeover contest sponsored by KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV Los Angeles.

The two-car gingerbread-style garage, filled wall-to-wall (and floor-to-ceiling) prompted a simple 100-word application into the contest, which clearly won over 1,000 entries. But this is a story less about clearing the clutter, and more about helping our American soldiers in Iraq.

Can this squadron pull together the impossible with just two days notice?

Case Study: An Overview of the Organized Relocation

Moving into a new home in Los Angeles can be a daunting task.

Our Client Eva is a busy, modern woman– and now a happy one.

An AIDS Educator for a large University in Los Angeles, she had lived in a beautiful 1930's Spanish Colonial for 9 years with her two dogs. It was a two-story unit, with lots of space she filled with gorgeous estate finds discovered around town and around the world.

But Eva has always wanted to be a homeowner. One day, while she was casually house hunting around her local Los Angeles neighborhood, she struck real estate gold. A newly renovated, turn-key architectural gem: a mid-century styled condo with incredible hardwood floors, a modern kitchen, warm light and views of Larchmont Village. But what her new home didn't have was a lot of space, but was in fact, roughly 1/2 the size of her rental she'd been for in so long. Recognizing the treasure she'd stumbled upon, Eva moved quickly–putting down a large deposit and agreeing to a 30-day escrow.
