Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host Sunday's Golden Globes

On Sunday evening comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will host the 70th Annual Golden Globes and celebrate outstanding achievements in Hollywood film and television.

But would could be on the menu, perhaps, are some organizing tips exchanged between the two. At least behind the scenes, and in their drawers.

Amy Poehler: organizing is a pleasure

It turns out that Amy, who worked with Tina on Saturday Night Live and the 2008 film Baby Mama loves organizing and cleaning out her closet. According to an interview from Parade Magazine, Poehler says:

[What are my weekend rituals?] …. "on a really awesome day, I’ll spend the afternoon cleaning out my closets. I love to organize. To me, there’s no greater grown-up pleasure than cleaning your drawers while listening to This American Life or Fresh Air on public radio. Your brain gets organized, and so does your underwear."

So this is quite the contrast to the public image that Tina Fey seems to enjoy. Check out this American Express ad below shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz. We love that Fey embraces the difficult reality that motherhood and running a home and business are quite challenging, almost impossible.

Finding an organizing buddy? Golden!

If Fey and Poehler do talk clutter and mayhem, we might suggest they hook up as organizing buddies. If Fey needs organizing advice on what to keep and what to donate, or information and tips on how to organize an office, an organizing buddy (Poehler) can help provide supportive talk and advise, but not be there to judge.  And organizing buddy helps guide their friend, keeps them focused, on track and accountable to daily goals.

While an organizing buddy doesn't substitute for a professional organizer, if you find the right friend, you can be Golden.

I can’t imagine any client I’d enjoy more than Tina Fey, because she’s fabulous, but of course, if Tina Fey were my client, I’d never tell, because that would be a violation of ethics. So, all I can say is that won’t say if she is or isn’t my client, because if I acknowledged, hypothetically, that she weren’t currently my client, then refused to make that same statement in the future, one might infer it meant she were my client, and that would be a privacy violation.
Doesn’t that sound like a rant she’d write for 30 Rock? 😉 Great post, John! Delightful and informative, concurrently!
