Where is Niecy Nash? Clean House Star Says “Do Not Disturb”

Niecy Nash Clean House 

One of our most-commented blog posts centers around the "new" television show Clean House Comes Clean. 

 

The post talks about the so-called dark side of makeover shows.  Long hours, 2-dozen people feverishly working behind the scenes, and a complete home re-do in 30-minutes (at least on tv) are all in the mix behind the scenes.  The post was inspired from Clean House Comes Clean.

 

In the comments section of our blog post, many, many commenters expressed concern for the whereabouts of Niecy Nash, the voluptuous, sumptuous star of the show.  Black and bawdy, she's possibly the main reason people tune in.  Her devilish ways tell the homeowners "like it is," and persuade them into losing Grandma's vintage so-and-so that they haven't used or even opened in 15 years.

 

But Neicy disappeared quite some time ago, and many of the comments were to that fact.  Well, we have the answer– she's been busy shooting other projects– including a pilot for Fox.  In Do Not Disturb, Nash gets her feet wet for series tv, and Jerry O'Connell directed the pilot.

 

"DO NOT DISTURB (working title) is a hilarious workplace comedy set at one of New York City's hottest and hippest hotels: The Inn. Named one of the Big Apple's "10 Best Places to Stay," The Inn is just that – the "in" place to be, with its chic decor, stylish staff and celebrity clientele. Behind the scenes, however, the upstairs/downstairs dynamic tells quite a different story."


"RHONDA (Niecy Nash, "Reno 911!") is the head of Human Resources who also keeps Neal's demands in check. She's brash, fabulous and brutally honest and runs the HR department from her bullpen downstairs with a set of rules that are all her own. Rhonda does her best to keep the back of the house in line and the front of the house out of trouble."


You can read all about the pilot on the Fox website.  And this project is not the only one Nash has had her hands on.  Her new movie Not Easily Broken opens September 26.

 

Nobody asked us, but we'd say Niecy will no-longer be appearing on Clean House. What do you think?

    hmmm, i guess it’s just odd to me that people miss her so much. i actually haven’t tuned in to the “new” show because i couldn’t stand Niecy.

    Without Niecy, Clean House will fade into oblivion just like the Clean Sweep and the rest of them did.

    The lure of Hollywood and more $$ are probably the reasons Niecy won’t be back. Although we loved her, it’s time to move on to bigger and better things. The new pilot sounds like it’s perfect for her. And my husband will be happy – he can’t stand Niecy either.

    Niecy made the Clean House show a hit. We really liked her personality and the little pep talks she provided were better than therapy for so many people who hoard the past instead of living for today. We don’t believe the show will continue it’s success without her.

    What happen to Linda and Allen? Good Grief! It just keeps changing! I really liked Allen and Niecy. The new gal they have is mousy and not entertaining at all! Next it will be Trish, Matt, and Mark gone! I love those guys too! Clean house is one of my favorite shows! I tell everyone about it! It is going to be taken off, I can just feel it! Another one bites the dust!

    I will truly Miss Neicy. She was real and made great TV. They were a good team because of their skill set and the diversity. Well I will move on the HGTV to Kim’s show. All of you who did like Neicy, well you could have turn the channel.

    I am sad to hear that Niecy Nash has left the show. My kids love her as much as I do. The show “might” go on, but it won’t be the same. I hope that Trish, Mark, and Matt can hold it down.

    Neicy Nash started the show and by far so far the best host that Clean House has, but sometimes you have to move on. I am not feeling the 2 new hosts that I have seen recently in the season. They have not found their nitch yet in hosting the show. Frankly they make me want to change the channel.
    Mark, Trish, and Matt could do a better job without them.

    I too am a Niecy fan. But I notice that the show is not kid friendly. Today’s show talked about a 21 year man living at home with him mom, and committing sexual sins. Not good! Also, I was disappointed that the show ended with the woman crying because Mark was trying to teach her a lesson about keeping commitments. He gave her a finished room with NO sofa because not enough $$ was raised at the yard sale. Niecy would have NEVER allowed that. They should have found a sofa for her. Niecy would have made some phone calls! The finished room should have had a sofa! I am very disappointed.

    well i dont really think the im ganna be watching clean house as much even tho mark is the best interior designer and inspiered me to become one the show just sucks with out nicey. i dont even like trish i miss linda but she left the show cuz they wanted someone younger and i think she went to court for it. now there is a new bitch i dont like! i didnt like anyone that replaced nicey but if she is staying i dont like her the most 😀 well bye i think i got a bit to into this lol.

    oh one more thing matt is coming out with his own new show and it has nothing to do with being a go-to-guy. Mark show go on hgtv I watch that like all day.

    I agree with those that say Niecy made the show a hit. None of the three replacement hosts I’ve seen have done anything for me. No one can match Niecy’s personality. She just rocks. She has the best way of telling it like it is, without exactly insulting. I will miss her and probably won’t tune in as often.

    Please bring back Niecy Nash. I am a male (straight) and I watched the show because of Niecy and her curves and quick wit. Is she on a break is she coming back tell me something. I no longer watch the show but check in just to see if Niecy is back. Please let me know something

    Wow, I am in a stage of shock right now. Niecy is the only reason why i watch clean house. I hope she comes back. i caught and episode the other day and I was bored and I fell asleep in which dont ususally happens. Please say it aint so…

    they couldn’t do it with the past 2 hosts after niecy. therefore, they got kelly, who i feel is just trying to mimic niecy, and is doing a poor job. niecy’s charm made the show. there is no one like her. bring her back, please!

    Did anyone catch the March Ebony article, “Last minute love?” That gorgeous Randy Ritchwood (Oxygen network’s 2005 Mr. Romance)is dating Niecy. He does look like Boris Kodjoe — go Niecy! I’ve watched Clean House a couple of times and I was surprised to see her in that setting after Reno 911. She got the job done. I saw the one too where they didn’t give the lady a sofa. Tacky. Forgot whether they talked her out of the one she had or she was ready to see it go. They could have covered it.

    I think you should either bring back Niecy or just do without her. Mark and the crew are totally capable to host the show and so far everyone you have tried to replace Niecy just falls short. Bring her back if you can and if you are not bringing her back, quit telling us the new host(s) are “filling in” for her.

    I am so upset that Nicey will not be back to Clean House. That is just wrong she was the only reason I started watching. I also saw that show where the lady did not get a couch tacky, tacky, tacky. the show seem much slower and without joy it is very dull. Like they say don’t try to fix what’s not broken.

    Where is Matt, Mark and Trish on the most recent “Clean House” episodes? I’ve seen such a variety of cast members I’m confused. I understand Niecy won’t be back but I certainly hope the rest of the crew will. I did see Mark on “Tacky Room”. I hope he hasn’t left Clean House for good. The new designer seems a bit unimaginative and a bit boring. Please bring back Mark, Matt and Trish! And Good Luck to Niecy on her new ventures.

    GOTTA BRING NEICY BACK, PRONTO!! SHE AND THE CREW SHE WORKS WITH MOST (MARK, TRISH AND MATT)MAKE THE SHOW BUT THE SHOW NEEDS THE FOUR OF THEM!! WITHOUT NEICY, THOUGH, IT DOES RUN SLOWER AND IS A BIT BORING. NEICY BRINGS EXCITEMENT, HUMOR AND ENERGY AND THE FOUR OF THEM SEEM TO REALLY LIKE EACH OTHER AND DEFINITELY WORK GREAT TOGETHER!!     Niecy is the most annoying person I’ve ever seen on TV and I was glad when the show came on tonight that I didn’t have to endure her awful voice. She thinks she’s so funny and clever. Trish is almost as annoying, but not nearly as much
