Is moderate clutter in your house a bone of contention?
Today’s Dear Abby has some advise for a single father who is struggling between taking proper care of his children, and keeping his house clutter-free. The man’s lady-friend says he should cut-back on his soccer-dad carpools, and stay home more often to keep things tidy. Dear Abby has some different advise and we couldn’t agree more.
What’s our take? The father should dump the neat and tidy lady-friend and downsize the family’s possessions. He should look at the important stuff in his life and dedicate a consistent home for those items. Eventually, he’ll have less stuff to take care of, and maintain– including the lady-friend. The father should also engage the kids to take part-ownership in family housekeeping.
