Organize.com Domain Name Purchased For Undisclosed Amount

Oen

Darn!  Someone beat us to it!

Okay, we’ve been too busy lately following the Los Angeles home sale of Brad & Jen, the Herb Ritz Estate, Roland Hill’s Sleeping Beauty Castle Home in Hollywood, and the conversion of the Tower Records Building in Hollywood to condos.  So busy in fact that we haven’t noticed the sale of a different kind.  The online-organizing superstore, "OrganizeEverything.com" has purchased the "Organize.com" domain name for an "undisclosed" amount.  You can read all about it here.  The transition process will be complete on March 31, 2006 and customers should see no service or purchase history issues with the change.

According to their Director of E-Commerce, Kevin Watts (who most recently was in attendance at the 2006 Los Angeles Organizing Awards, chaired by OrganizingLA stalwart John Trosko), the name change also reflects one of the main company philosophies: To make your life simpler and more organized. "Our new name clearly reflects that and will be much easier for our customers to remember."

We know there are many, many die-hard bloggers who read this site– can anyone give us what we think this "undisclosed" purchase price of "Organize.com" could be?  Just curious– if our budget is in that ballpark.

A single word “keyword” brings highly-targeted traffic to a site and benefits from URL type-in traffic.
The domain “cow.com” sold on ebay for $45K and it is a pretty useless site! So, I can only imagine what a highly targeted keyword like “organize” would be worth. My guess … around $500K … minimum.

I think $500K is in the right ball-park as well. In the long-run, they’ll see significant returns and their business alone increases the value of the domain and vice versa.
Organize.com had an article published today in Practical Ecommerce but unfortunately, it seems that Organize.com is having site issues today. I feel for them.
I’d like to contact Kevin Watts to see if we can collaborate on some things. Does anyone have his contact info?
