What An Organized Purse Says About You

While trying to snag tickets for the new Getty Museum in Malibu (refreshed screen three times— ouch, all public tickets through 7/31/06 GONE), I caught Good Morning America’s segment– What Does Your Purse Say About You? The Things You Carry Can Provide a Window Into Your Soul.

According to Allyson Waterman, Lucky magazine special projects editor, if your bag contains the following, you are "well-organized and detail-oriented, with place and purpose for everything."

The Well Organized Purse:

  • Wallet
  • Stamps
  • Treo
  • Compartmentalized makeup case
  • Purell
  • Photo album
  • Peppermint gum
  • Photo iPod
  • Toilet-seat covers
  • Wet Ones
  • Face blotter
  • Pat & go lipstick OR Gloss on a key ring
  • Brush-ups
  • Pill case

    Hi John!
I read your blog on “What your bag says about you!”. Interesting, Diane Sawyer’s
bag, I would never have guessed it was the last, the “go” bag. And with a passport no less. Well, it was nice reading. I noticed you have a few highlighted sponsors, do they pay you for your putting their products i.e. ipod on your blog? How does that work? Why would you do it if there was no compensation?

    Hi Jean!
Thanks for reading the OrganizingLA Blog. The “what’s in your purse” story on Good Morning America was really fun to view, and I wanted to post about it.
To answer your question about sponsors:
The “highlighted” things on my blog are called “hyperlinks.” Hyperlinks are the text you find on a Web site which can be “clicked on” with a mouse, which in turn will take you to another Web page or a different area of the same Web page.
I like to supply links to products that I think are a.) reference to the post or b.) services I like and want to share. For me, it’s a matter of giving back. Our services are sometimes found via internet searches for organizing products, too. If someone is searching for a closet organizing system, or Ipod, then sometimes they’ll stay and see the other perfect-world information we offer. Why not share the companies that are most important to me?
I’ve always been a rather giving kind of businessman. I actively pass-on referrals to Los Angeles companies for my clients (and of course friends.) I receive no compensation at this time from these hyperlinks. And I also appreciate reciprocal links to MY site from these folks.
    Thanks for reading!
