Find-A-Human! (aka Phone System Shortcuts)

Ever try and reach your local bank, pharmacy or cable company and get stuck in the endless maze of phone options and just want to get a live-person?  We’ve got a great time-saving tip:

From Customer Evangelialists, Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba, comes a terrific cheat sheet for navigating the choppy waters of phone hell, aka phone system shortcuts.  See the article by clicking here.

I wish I had this list last month when Comcast never showed up as promised while OrganizingLA was trying to wrap up a relocation and our mover was loading the last box on the truck.

I just heard an interview on NPR with Paul English, the guy who created the cheat sheet to get through automated phone systems. Here’s the link to hear the interview: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5024153

Hi Denise! Thank you so much for letting me know this. I really should be listening to npr more. When I am home and relaxing, I am currently enjoying radio off the internet. My favorite is a station in England.
But I digress: Paul English is such an unlikely guy to be put into this kind of spotlight. The success of his “list” is fun. And I tried it today while calling Nextel (big surprise, problem in LA about cel or mobile service.) It worked! Very nice, his tips made my day a little easier.
