OrganizingLA Blog and Hecht of an Organizer are teaming up this week to give away one organizer (valued at $35.00) to a lucky blog reader.
To submit an entry, all you have to do is post a comment of value telling us how you'd use the organizer should you win. We'll select a winner at random and contact via email. Keep reading the comments, because the inventor herself will be monitoring and responding to comments as necessary.
Winner of a 2008 Los Angeles Organizing Award "The Green Award for Most Eco-friendly Organizing Product," inventor Linda Hecht (accepting her award last February) has one helluva product.
Linda told us this weekend how far the positive impact from her Award reached.
"Local cities around Indianapolis heard about our Los Angeles Organizing Award and began purchasing the organizers for their city police, fire and other city head departments. The City of Greencastle, Indiana was the first to get their city organized while going green. The Clerk - Treasurer then shared it with INDOT (Indiana Dept. of Transportation) who is now making Hecht Of An Organizer units available to their employees. Other cities in Indiana are also following suit. I am amazed at the sales and even more excited about the new 2.0 design improvements we've completed in just the past two weeks."
So what is Hecht Of An Organizer and what are all those new design improvements?
Hecht Of An Organizer is based around the simplicity of a basic recyclable cardboard box used for auto storage, crafting, medical equipment and school supplies. In her updated version-- which is brand new and just two weeks old, Linda tells us the box now actually ships flat, which saves on postage costs and make the units more desirable for retail stores to carry them. The boxes have color coded flaps, and lines to follow along with instructions which you set up yourself. They snap together and can be assembled in minutes.
A canvas cover slips over the top of the box providing 18-plus pockets for storage. The upscale fabric and durable handles make the organizer attractive and easy to transport. According to Linda, the bottom cover is now made from nylon pack cloth (keeping the bottom of the box from getting wet) and zips up making it easier to assemble.
The last change in Hecht Of An Organizer 2.0 came from a customer and that was to make the top cover all one color. Bright colors such as royal blue, red and tan make it easier to find loose items on the bottom or in pockets of the organizer. However, they will carry and sell a lot of black organizers too.

I've been wanting one of the original organizers for a while-but I LOVE the bright colors of this new one. As a Professional Organizer and busy Mom, some days I feel like I'm living out of my car! This will definitely help me keep everything I need with me, but in a very organized way.
Thanks for the great giveaway. I recently found your site and I've been enjoying the info you have to offer.

I am a teacher and this organizer would be a great tool to hold my various books, teaching materials, and papers to grade as I transport them from school to home. Plus, the pockets would be perfect to hold all of the little things I need to use. Great product!

What a great looking product! I love the brighter colors for the inside. One of my biggest pet peeves is a black liner that makes small items so hard to find.

What a great idea, and it's green, as well! I would use this organizer as my portable "office" for my upcoming kitchen remodel. I need one place for idea files, receipts, and all those bulky tile and countertop samples. I could keep this in my car and easily have everything near as I'm out comparing and gathering new ideas/samples.

Where has this been all my life!!!
I need this in my van for the kids'stuff - I keep lots of things for them to do in the car to keep down the whining level.
I myself could use one in the front seat to hold my reading material (you never know when you're going to have a free moment), returns to make (dvd's, library books) and store my snacks around the sides! yum.
Where do we get 'em????

As a busy mom who works outside the home, this organizer would be fabulous for my car. As Polly Pocket would say, "LOVE IT."

Looking to help organize my move. Our house sold in 3 days and well the paperwork and stuff is all in a very ordinary bankers box. We are buying a new home that needs renovation..so the buying, moving, renovating me needs a place to roost. I'd so love to win this item.

This is terrific to hold all the items that I need in the car--wipes, lint brush, deposit envelopes, CDs, Goo-Gone, glass cleaner, emergency radio, dog treats, you name it. I'll also show it to clients--I think they'll love it!

This organizer will save my marriage... my husband is becoming less and and less enchanted with me as my piles of to do lists cover our home. Trying to balance a career as a psychiatrist, mommy-hood, wife-dom and a start-up career in jewelry making is surely taking its toll. HECHT OF AN ORGANIZER- SAVE ME!!!

As a wheelchair user, having the HECHT OF AN ORGANIZER would be perfect to store all the necessary items we need when we go to estate sales and auctions. As a buyer for our antiques and collectibles store, it fits perfectly in the back of our ramp van and stores everything we need from maps to flashlights to measuring tapes, black lights, loops, lighters, pins and the list goes on. We can store smalls in the center (our purchases) and all the tools of the trade fit nicely around it. I love it. Can I have one in blue please?

This is COOL! I would use this organizer to put my current craft project in. The pockets are just the right size to put tools in. This would make it easy to take with me anywhere. Shannon=)

My oldest son starts Kindergarten this August. He's genetically an organized boy. We have bought him 2 sets of school supplies; 1 for his teacher and one for home.
Although he has many great craft tools, I want him to keep a school kit. That way when he needs to finish a project that ran out of time, he can come home and do it right. As an added bonus, I'd like our younger child to have a 'link' to his older brother and feel cool like him by doing projects out of the school kit.
thanks for the opp!

Great giveaway! I would love the Hecht of an organizer for my car. I have a 2 1/2 year old that likes to have all kinds of things with her when we go out. This would help me keep my car better organized. Thanks for the opportunity to win one.

I would use the organizer to keep track of all of my kids' stuff such as current homework, sports schedules, activities, etc. and I would keep a folder in it for my current work projects. It looks like a great product.

What a great idea. I would use these for gifts for all the crafty women in the family. They'd have no excuse not to have everything handy for their crafts, and scrapbooking parties.

I am a Professional Organizer in Columbus, OH. I've heard of this product and would love to give these as gifts to clients! I have a smaller version that is a sentimental favorite (a gift) and my clients always want one.I would like to test drive the larger version.I have recommended this product as similiar to mine but I would love to order them in bulk and distribute as hoilday gifts if nothing else! Cheers!

As a part-time realtor I can definitely say the organizer would help me keep all my clients and files in order. A second one would come in handy to help keep my eleven year old's school supplies organized and available when she needs them - it never fails we can't find what we need when we need it!!!

This would make my wife ecstatic. My current organizer is a space at the end of the island counter in the kitchen. This would be great in starting me off in the right direction of getting organized. It is the right product for a person like me.

I have seen this organizer and am so excited about all the possibilities! I am in insurance sales and marketing by day and a professional musician by night. I am on the road all the time and can never find what I need when I need I need it. The organizer would enable me to keep my stuff where I can find it quickly and easily. Everyone, no matter what their profession, can benefit from this great product!

If I were to win the Hecht of an Organizer 2.0, I would use it to store and organize all of my pet grooming supplies. I have a Pug(Mugsy)he is an indoor dog, but occasionally is outside therefore he requires lots of grooming. I also have a Rottweiller(Rambo) and he is an outside dog and requires less but still needs to be bathed and groomed on a regular basis. This organizer would allow me to keep all the supplies together in one central location and also would allow me to take it outside when I am grooming Rambo. This way I have everything on hand, and I don't have to wonder what I did with the brush the last time I used it. It would simplify this part of my life.

Wow! I can see it now... no more piles of stuff in the back seat of my car! I am on the road all the time and from my cd's to my atlas to my emergency road side things, I can find a place for each of them in this organizer and not worry about all of it flying out of the back seat onto the floor! I can't wait to get one!

This would be a great gift for my wife and daughters. My wife is getting busier every week. My youngest daughter graduates high school in a few days. This would make a great gift to help organizer her freshman year.

Wow! I can see it now -- my car would be neat & organized. No more loose items rolling around in the trunk. No more searching under the seat for a pen & note pad. It would dramatically improve my quality of life & my wife would stop telling me how disgusting my car is!

I show dogs and am forever losing ribbons and premium notices. I would use the organizer to organize my entries and awards.

Oh to have some organization in my car! I can see this so perfectly sitting on my back seat, keeping my paperwork, projects, yogurts, bottle water etc. all together in one place. No more need to look under the seat when I reach my destiny for what has rolled off the seat during travel!

I have another Hecht organizer that is for file folders. It was a neat totebag where I had all my husbands medical files and info that I needed while he was in the hospital. That enabled me to have everything at my fingertips at all times. It was a Godsend, and cute fabric too. I would try this organizer in my car just to have a place for all the papers and small items I seem to forget to carry with me cause I have no place to put them. This organizer would also keep thkings from getting mixed together since there is a place for everything.

This would be a great baby/kid bag to take wherever we go! Keep it in the car to hold toys and be a kid catch-all. I love the concept of having 18 pockets for baby bottles, binkies, snacks, etc.

We have a coffee center at church. This would be ideal to keep all the small things organized. On Sunday morning when everyone is standing there waiting for me to get everything out on on the table, I could just pull it out and get on with making the coffee.
Posted by: Sandy | May 23, 2008 at 07:11 PM
I would keep it in my car, in the trunk for my extra oil, water, food for my 72 hour kit, flash light, emergency radio, tape and IKEA catalog (and other catalogs)to give to clients just to name a few of the things I would put in it. I could use it to transport small plants from the store so they wouldn't tip over.
Inside my car I would put, mileage notebook, pen, beauty supply kit (floss, toothpaste, mirror, mini first aid kit, napkins, tissues, hand lotion, lip balm, tire gage, mini sewing kit, and best of all treats.
It would be a great gift, put a plant in the middle, food and gardening tools on the outside pockets for a gift.
